Raised in Las Cruces, Felicia Hensler, owner and photographer of Las Cruces Portraits, is proud to be from New Mexico. She loves the area, culture, people, and food. She believes there is no other place like New Mexico.
Throughout her entire life, and for as long as she can remember, she has wanted to be a photographer. She was fascinated by cameras and the ability to be able to take a moment in time and freeze it to cherish and look back on, to relieve the moment in someone's life that was special. With that passion built up in her, she started the journey by joining anything she could to be able to learn and explore her passion for photography. She was gifted cameras from her mother to learn film. She joined school clubs like Photography Club, or Yearbook while continuing to explore and gain experience and expertise on her own. Fast forward to adulthood and her passion continued as she signed up for college classes like Creative Photography and Visual Anthropology which were the highlight of her college career. She feels like her passion for photography has been at the center of her whole life. Her mom and multiple family members including her father, currently have or had their own interest in photography.
She is on the path that she feels she is destined to be with her passion and desire guiding her. She couldn't be happier being able to explore and capture such special moments in people's lives. She loves seeing faces light up when her clients are shown their portraits. She believes it is one of the best things life could offer.
